Background:  KAA is a week-long sports camp committed to reaching youth with the love and power of Jesus.  It combines fun outdoor challenges in the hill country of Branson, MO and creative discipleship methods that appeal to urban youth.  Kids Across America is an organization whose vision is to transform urban youth to impact their communities for Christ.   Their mission is to build Christian leaders by encouraging, equipping, and empowering urban youth and their mentors through camping and education.  The camps are divided into the following three groups:

  • Kamp 1 age 9-12
  • Kamp 2 age 13-14
  • Kamp 3 age 15-18

Mt Pisgah adult volunteers who travel to the camp will receive separate training while at the camp.  The campers will travel along with youth from North Dallas Community Fellowship Bible Church via bus. The transportation will be provided through North Dallas Community Fellowship Bible Church.

If full payment is not made by May 15, 2012, the deposit will be lost.  Youth who attend the camp will not be allowed access to cell phones and other electronic devices.  Nor will they interact with the Mt. Pisgah adult volunteers who accompany them to the camp.  The Mt. Pisgah adult volunteers will receive separate training while at the camp.
Boy and girl campers will stay in separate cabins that are located in different parts of the camp which are called No Man’s Land and No Woman’s Land

Campers will have chores in the cabins and dining areas.  One camper will be selected at each meal to lead prayer.

Each camper will be given a swim test when they arrive. They will be allowed to participate in swimming activities according to their swimming ability. They will also be given a wrist band that shows their swimming skill level.

Each day campers will be exposed to a Bible Study with their cabinmates as well as prayer and directive teaching during their classes. Each night, parties are held which include fun activities that allow for the theme of the camp to be more deeply implanted into the hearts of the children. One of the nights is  Cross Talk night during which the campers are given a skit which shows the love that Christ has for us and His death burial and resurrection. This is usually a very powerful night and the leaders are asked to pray for the campers before the night begins.
