College Tour 2012
The Planning for the Future Ministry will take 40-53 high school students and chaperones on a college tour to Washington D.C.
Date: June 10-16, 2012
Cost: $500 which includes transportation and lodging.
Each individual traveling will need money for meals and other expenses.
The purpose of this tour is to educate and inform high school students about various colleges, the legislative foundation of the United States, historical sites and traditions in order for the students to become better ambassadors and become empowered, equipped and prepared for college and career choices.
Our tentative itinerary is:
- Sunday, June 10 – Depart Mt Pisgah
- Monday, June 11 (morning) – Visit Tennessee State University Nashville Tennessee
- Monday, June 11 (night) – arrive at Alexandria Virginia hotel
- Tuesday, June 12 – visit Morgan State University Baltimore Maryland, National Black Wax Museum, the National Harbor and possibly Ft. McHenry
- Wednesday, June 13 – visit Howard University and The National Mall (includes MLK Memorial) and the Smithsonian.
- Thursday, June 14 – visit The White House, The Capitol and Georgetown University
- Friday, June 15 – visit Hampton University Hampton Virginia and depart for Dallas
- Saturday, June 16 – arrive Mt. Pisgah
There would be 4 students in each room and 1 adult chaperone. Dependent upon Mt. Pisgah participation, the tour will be open to other churches and youth.
The payment schedule is as folllows:
- March 15, 2012 - $125
- April 15, 2012 - $125
- May 15, 2012 - $100
