Benevolence Committee

Taking a statement from Pastor Townsend's vision, "I see a church that is a sharing and caring church.  It is a church where people genuinely care about one another and do something about it."

The purpose of the Benevolence Committee is to care about the needs of our members and to share with them the resources made available to us so that some of their pressing needs can be met.  Our goal is to assist our members with essential needs such as shelter, food and utilities.  Additionally, love gifts for our first year college students and for members in the hospital are provided.

Jesus said in Matthew 25:34-36 & 40b, "Then shall the King say unto them on the right hand, come ye blessed of my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.  For I was hungry, and ye gave me food; I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink; I was a stranger, and ye took me in; naked, and ye clothed me; I was sick and ye visited me; I was in prison, and ye came unto me, In as much as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me."
